Our Cubs Pre-K program has children who have turned four but have not yet entered kindergarten. At this age children are very independent and are eager and receptive to learn new concepts. We offer children a combination of self-directed and teacher-directed activities to channel all their energy and excitement for their gross and fine motor development. We use the PATHS Social/Emotional approach to engage children's Executive Function and self-regulation skills. We use the Creative Curriculum and work on kindergarten readiness skills such as reading, writing, graphing, sorting, cause & effect, following 2-3 step directions, sustaining attention, and turn taking. The Cubs teachers are engaged, enthusiastic, sensitive to meet the changing needs of the class.
